Three benefits of our coconut and rapeseed wax.
Almost any oil can be used as a fuel(Wax) for a candle. So why did we use coconut and rapeseed wax for our products?
1. The recipe is simple. Rapeseed wax, coconut wax and nothing else!
It’s 100% vegan, bio-degradable and more sustainable than Soy and Paraffin or any other wax out there at present. Coconut and rapeseed wax is from Europe, where crop cultivation laws are strict. So there are no connections leading to deforestation or the overuse of pesticides.
2. The wax allows an overall cleaner and slower burn mean the candle burns down at a more consistent rate at a constant temperature that lasts longer. As a result, your candle will last up to 50% longer than a standard candle.
Nobody likes soot, so a smokey candle is not a favourable trait. In addition, some types of wax, such as paraffin, can cause many health problems related to their smoke. When lit, candles that are not clean burning can let loose tons of toxic fumes, including volatile compounds linked to migraines and asthma. A study that looked at paraffin wax candles specifically discovered that paraffin specifically released compounds known to cause cancer.
3. A much-improved cold and hot scent throw mean the amount of fragrance given when the candle is cold (waiting to be burned) or hot (when it is lit/burning). This wax is excellent for both throws.
*When looking for a plant-based wax, soy is an obvious choice; however, it can be a particularly unreliable wax, and the scent throw can hinder this. Furthermore, there are some links between the popularity of soy as a crop and deforestation. *Paraffin wax is the most famous wax in the UK. It produces a great scent throw, holds colour particularly well, and has a meagre cost. However, is it most definitely not sustainable. Paraffin wax is an extract from the leftovers of the crude oil refinement process. Furthermore, it is particularly fast burning, so even though you may pay less for a wax product, you don’t receive as long a burn time from it.
